Christ called us to love one another and be devoted to one another just as He loved us. His gospel commands us to live our lives in such a way, that our love for one another becomes a living witness of our faith in Him and demonstrates God's glory to the culture around us (our neighborhoods, circle of friends, co-workers, families, etc.).

At The Well, we recognize that this is a lifestyle that goes beyond a weekly service. We desire to live out Christ- centered community that is authentic and holistic, encompassing every facet of our lives. We see our lives as missional, whether it is our vocations, our passions, or our pasttimes. But, how can we live out Christ-centered, God glorifying community if we confine our Christian experience to a 90 minute service one time per week? We think it's impossible.

Therefore, for us, Church is not a weekly service, but a life-style. At The Well, our 3D Community provides the context for every member to grow in a shared and missional life in Christ. Through small groups (3D Groups) in this community, each member becomes a vital part of our growing Christ-centered community.

We have purposely not created a set of predetermined programs for people to mold their lives around, but instead equip people to live out the mission of the gospel in the context of a shared life in Christ. Our 3D Groups are where this happens. They are where we:

1) Develop community,
2) Demonstrate God's love, and
3) Deploy our gifts in service.

We study the scriptures together, pray together, disciple one another, bear one another's burdens -- all in and through Christ. And through these groups, we do mission throughout the city of Portland, proclaiming the gospel and reaching to those hurting in our city. For all of these reasons, if you are a member of The Well, it is vital that you join a 3D Group in order to be a functioning member. Community Groups

Community groups form around a specific neighborhood or area of the city that members of The Well share. These are groups with a desire to have gospel impact in that area of the city. In addition, the group desires to multiply and organically form new groups through training and discipling others to lead. Find one in your area and join up!

  Interest/Social Justice Groups

Interest groups gather around a common passion, hobby, or social cause that members of The Well share. These groups seek to turn a passion or a pasttime into an avenue to both experience and express the gospel.

  Study Groups

Study groups typically last for one season and undertake a focused study in God's word or a book. These are little learning communities that are facilitated by a qualified teacher and are dynamic times of learning and growth. Look at the study groups and join up with one to experience theology in community.
